One thing I really liked is that they don’t use the same rice or flavor for every biryani like many other restaurants. The chicken biryani and veal biryani taste completely different. The chicken biryani is spicier with lots of green chilies, while the veal biryani is milder. Both were absolutely delicious. The veal meat was very well cooked, juicy, and very soft. The staff were not very friendly and the prices are on the higher side. Still, the food quality makes it worth trying at least once. I can understand why many people say this is one of the best biryani spots in the GTA.
I had heard a lot of good reviews from this restaurant, and so I took a long drive to see the hype. Their biryani was extremely well made, great taste and mouth feel, good spice level. Was disappointed that there was no potato, as it was advertised. All together, a great experience and will try again.
One of the top two biryani's in GTA. And the nicest of family owners who try to provide the best service. It's a good Biryani which lives up to all the hype that it has around town. Everyone is comparing this with the Biryani @ Karachi Xpress. Both are good but there is no comparison. The other one is a Daigi Biryani which is a completely different taste & look than the regular Biryani which Dera has. Compared to other watery Raita's, their's is thick & tastes great along with the Biryani. Best of all, if you order a tray, they do not hold back on the quantity of raita. Also their Biryani does NOT have Aaloo so if thats a must for you than you will be slightly disappointed.
